A few weeks ago we ran a competition to win a Photography Engagement photoshoot in conjunction with AphroditeNet Photography.  We now have details of the winners and the pictures taken at No Mans Orchard in Kent.

The winning entry from Ashleigh and John described their intended Wedding theme and why they chose the location of an Apple orchard for their engagement photoshoot.

‘No Man’s Orchard’, epitomises the comforting, rustic, and slightly magical nature of Kent at its very best, and those are all elements that we intend to bring to our wedding. We are theming our wedding on our home county, Kent, from stationary adorned with images of apples and characters from Chaucer’s “Canterbury Tales”, to our 17th century barn setting, and wedding breakfast menu comprising entirely, and exclusively, locally sourced produce, including local lobster, lamb, strawberries and a North Kent favourite – homemade Gypsy Tart. We want to show all of our family and friends who are travelling from across the UK and beyond why we love living here in Canterbury as much as we do. The orchard is a very rare example of a traditional, “proper” Kentish apple orchard, modern orchards use a lot of dwarf varieties of apple trees, which make harvesting a lot easier, but in No Mans Orchard the apple trees are huge and sprawling, their branches are enormous and the fruit from them is delicious. They are not “pretty” trees by any means, often they grow in contorted and perhaps slightly “creepy” shapes, but this is how an apple orchard would have been, and a county like Kent, famous for its fresh produce, would have had acres and acres of them. I love the feeling of stepping back into another life that you get when you visit No Mans Orchard, it’s quiet, without being eerie, and safe, without being boring. We have incorporated apples into our wedding theme and will be hand-making some apple place settings from typical, native-to-Kent varieties of apples, so to be able to bring a real Kentish apple orchard into our pre-wedding photography would be fabulous!’’

The engagement photoshoot is perfectly captured and styled by AphroditeNet Photography taking into consideration the details Ashleigh and John put forward.

The photographs really capture a lovely sunny Autumn day and a perfect setting to remember their Engagement.
